I once asked a friend of mine to tell me what he thought about this series of landscapes featuring farms I did while I was on my way to Eugene, Oregon. He said they reminded him of gerrymandering. I immediately understood what he said while at the same time rejecting the notion, hoping that someone else might see the romanticism behind these images instead.
