Johan Salvador Tavares

A passionate artist since childhood, I often expressed myself better through art. When photography found me I was already expecting its arrival. I wanted to move with the lens as if it was attached to my own eye. The shutter was pressed enough to put a dent on it, and all the while I amassed a large collection of photographs. I documented enough to make me wonder if all people saw when they looked at me was a man with a camera attached to his face. The love affair was obvious, I love photography, in all its glory but mostly because it allows me to express myself via my sense of wonder and use of color in a way that I never experienced before. The entire process brings me joy, from the decisive moment to the darkroom, which these days is digital and just as exciting as analog.  I like to call myself a travel photographer because I love to travel but mainly I travel because I love photography.
