Texaco is as rooted in Texas as its name implies. Just as these well-preserved tanks are rooted in the landscape. This was Marfa frozen in time as well as it can. Sleepy as any town can be and riddled with hidden gems. I was inspired by how old everything seemed and by the towns unique architecture. It didn’t feel like anywhere else I’ve been in the United States. When composing this image I used my favorite color blocking technique.
